pack there own mini backpack!    Packing for a trip with a toddler has an endless list, from diapers, snacks, toys, activities, etc. I try to limit what I carry as much as I can, since I have already so much, by allowing my toddler to hold her own "little bag of goodies". I pack a bag full of her favorite little toys, coloring activities, fun snacks and even some new play doh packs. I like to show her what she has to look forward to when she gets on that plane ride, as well, as throwing a few surprises in for her, for those out-of-nowhere tantrums, while also including the necessities like diapers, milk bottles etc.   FUN TIP: One thing I have learned on my 10 hour flights, is tHAT There will be lots of mini accidents, milk spills, water leakage, crumbs etc, so I like to take a waterproof backpack so when I am back from my trip I can toss it right into the wash without worrying about stains, awful odors and damaging the quality of of the bag. so it's all clean & fresh for our next adventure!

night flights!    Every time we travel, we try to book our flights in the evenings, that way my toddler will be fast asleep majority of the flight, and mOMMY ME, can get a little rest too! Night flights can sometimes be a little hard to do, however I have travelled numerous day flights and would give anything to swap it out for an evening flight. My toddler likes to play for an hour or so with her toys that she is so excited about but then she is so exhausted, she will sleep throughout the whole flight, this also helps keep her night time routine AND SCHEDULE right on track so dealing with jet lag is a little easier on her & us!

ROAD TRIP necessities! Sometimes we have spontaneous weekends, on a Friday night we like to look up places and decide what to do during the weekend, and it usually involves some long road trips. So we try to keep our little toddler entertained as much as possible to keep her happy during the long DRIVE. If we start off our road trips early morning, then she is wide awake, so we put her favourite movie on using our ipad, or keep snacks and toys ready for her to keep busy. I even pop out a coloring book and some crayons and hear her scribbling away in the back! If all fails, we pop on some fun music and sing along with her just so she's entertained and not super cranky! GIVE ME THE MOST KID FRIENDLY ROOM POSSIBLE! Hotel rooms can be tough sometimes, as it'S a new home for the little one, a new bed for them to get all comfortable in again and sleeping in a new place is always hard even, for me! so, we try to make things a little easier for us, and for her, when it comes to staying at a hotel. We always ask for the furthest room away from everyone! of course, it depends on the hotels availability, however when our little one was a toddler we used to have middle of the night feedings, diaper changes, and all other toddler issues, however, it helped to know there was no one else we were disturbing in the middle of the night, by asking for a room at the end of the hallway rather than the middle and sometimes it resulted in some pretty amazing views and upgrades!

PACKING EXTRA OF EVERYTHING!    My husband probably won't agree, but I live for this! I pack extra clothes, extra diapers, extra crayons, extra medicine, extra everything! Kids have so many accidents, diaper leakages, throw ups, etc so I like to have extra clothes ready to quickly change them into when they throw up or leak. I always have a few extra clothes & diapers in my own backpack incase it happens suddenly, so I don't have to try to take it out of my luggage in the overhead compartment, especially when travelling alone without having those extra hands to help you.   My toddler always either drops things somewhere, or I do! Haha, so I like to have extra toys handy incase she gets a little antsy. And the best part about is to tell the husband "see, good thing I had extra!"

BE HANDS FREE! I can't stress enough how helpful a carrier is when travelling, especially alone! Whenever I travel to London (aka, home), I am left doing everything on my own, from carrying luggage, to EVEN GOING TO the bathroom (WHo knew going to the bathroom could get so difficult when having a kid, eh?) and it helps to be hands free while still being able to carry my child too. I used to use a carrier for almost 2 & half years of her life, she was small enough to carry, I always had her on my front, but until they came out with a new carrier where she can be on my back! oh, it was a game changer & a Lifesaver! Now I can push the luggage, stand in long security lines, walk through the plane aisles like a normal person while she naps away on my back!   Here is the link to the carrier that I still live by and highly recommend: BABYBJORN BABY CARRIER WE
