our ultimate mexico bucket list:

My husband suRprised me for an early birthday present to mexico a few weeks before we left! i WAS SUPER EXCITED, HE FINALLY FULFILLED MY MEXICO DREAM WITH A NEW POLAROID FOR MY ADVENTURES! SO BLESSED! i HAVE BEEN LONGING TO GO TO MEXICO SINCE WE GOT MARRIED, FOR AS LONG AS I can REMEMBER, I DREAMT OF WEARING a SOMBRERO ON THE BEACH, WHILE BUYING MARACAS TO TAKE HOME WITH ME! I WOULD TAKE HIM TO A LOCAL mexican SUPERMARKET NEAR OUR HOUSE (MI PEUBLO FOOD CENTER) JUST SO I CAN GET A LITTLE EXCITED AND GET THE FEEL OF MEXICO WHEN SHOPPING FOR GROCERY'S. HAHA I KNOW, SO SAD RIGHT? LOL, hey, IT MADE ME HAPPY FOR AN HOUR!

WELL..it's finally happening! AFTER A CRAZY HECTIC WORK WEEk, PACKING, and motherhood duties, WE WERE READY FOR OUR MEXICAN ADVENTURE!

WE HAD 3 full days & 1 half day to explore everything on our bucket list! eeeek, how will my forever long bucket list be checked off? we ORIGINALLY HAD 4 AND HALF DAYS OF EXPLORING, HOWEVER, WE lost out on a full day DUE TO flight delays, WE WERE GUTTED BUT WE TRIED TO MAKE THE MOST OF THE 3 DAYS WE HAD AND OH, WE sure DID! WE CHECKED OFF EVERYTHING ON MY LIST & SAW EVEN MORE THAN WHAT WE EXPECTED. it was a hectic few days, trying to get from a-B-z, but so much fun! humid weather isn't mine or my hair's favourite climate to be in, but with the charm of tulum & cotton candy pink lakes, I would trade anything to be back in the heat again!

 i AM SO EXCITED TO SHARE MY MEXICAN TRAVELS WITH YOU all & have put together some of my favourite places you must check out when you plan your trip!

I HOPE YOU ALL FALL IN LOVE WITh mexico THE SAME WAY I DID! enjoy!

{p.s i was so sad to be back home after such a fun few days, i went to mi peublo food center to get the feel again! lol..it made me happy for an hour! }

OF ALL THE BOOKS IN THE WORLD, THE BEST STORIES ARE FOUND BETWEEN THE PAGES OF A PASSPORT

TULUM

A bohemian vibing town full of quaint shops & amazing design.

You will easily fall in love with Tulum and will never want to leave. Truly a magical place!

#takemebacktotulum

A charming rustic meets luxury hotel right off the Tulum Beach. All kinds of unique surprises here!

{Tip: Make sure to book their new oceanfront casitas with a rooftop pool, so you can overlook the ocean and jungle when relaxing in your own private pool. We stayed here for two nights and highly recommend the casita. They also do other variety of rooms like jungle cabanas for a more eco-friendly feel.}

NOMADE TULUM

{Tulum}

Mediterranean holistic haven for lunch or dinner.

(Tip: Get there before 7 to get the place to yourselves, they also allow you to order from a variety of there Menus, so you get a larger vegan/vegetarian/gluten free variety, ask hostess for further details)

CASA MALCA

{

Tulum}

A contemporary art based boutique hotel featured in Architectural digest.

{Tip: Make sure to catch a fun photo shot while swinging on these super cool recycled sofas turned into swings- such an awesome idea, right? Also, do you see the white curtains- they're recycled old wedding dresses! Clever designs with a story make me so happy!

Oh, and check out there white sand beach, while sitting in there adorable tipi huts for some shade and relaxation!}

KIN-TOH

{Tulum}

Tree-top fine dining in the jungle!

This mind blowing restaurant is in the middle of the jungle, and great to lounge with your partner on the floating hammocks while sipping on some cocktails (Virgin Mojito's with ice for me please!)

{Tip: Arrive an hour or so before sunset, it can get very dark in the jungle, so you can enjoy the view & catch some good photo shots of you on the hammock. It's also ever so romantic, perfect way to end your last night in Tulum}

POSADA MAGHERITA

Breakfast or dinner on the beach anyone?

Well known for it's fresh italian pasta and super cute menus, however, eating with a ocean view, while having sand on my toes had won me over!

Great casual atmosphere, every corner of this place is an Instagram dream.

{Tip: If you have kids, sneak in a few sand toys in your bag before you arrive, so the kids are busy playing in the sand while you get to have your dinner in peace.}

Ancient historical architecture right off the coast.

{Tip: We got a rental car for the few days we were in Mexico, so we can get around at our own time rather than go with a tour guide. We arrived mid-day, however, get there early, before all the large groups of tourists come in, we wish we did!

And, also check out the cute little town to drink some fresh coconut water after the long hot walk to the ruins & some fun souvenir shopping}

CHICHEN ITZA RUINS {Yucatan}

One of the new 7 wonders of the world.

{Tip: Another "get there early" tip, however, we did manage to get here by 9.30am and it was perfect, not too many people when walking around the ruins. As we were leaving the crowds started to roll in...it made us happy :) }

LAS COLORADAS

Cotton-candy pink lakes filled with salt. Unreal.

This was my ultimate favourite thing about our trip, {besides an awesome picture my husband took within 10 minutes of getting there} this place was insanely beautiful!

It is super pretty to look at, but not somewhere you want to swim in, since the vibrant glimmering pink color is due to red-colored algae, plankton, and brine shrimp that thrive in salty environment. Oh, and it had an awful odor too, but it was breathtakingly pretty and that itself was enough!

"An asian inspired five-star hotel with a mix of luxury, nature & serenity"

Every room has it's own private pool & spa sanctuary (Mommy heaven). It is also amazing for honeymooners, some good alone time with your partner or for family's. Our room's square footage was bigger than my house & the private pool was great for my little one to play in. She couldn't get enough!

{We stayed here for our last two nights, and it was the perfect place to end our trip. Amazing welcoming staff and outstanding service, highly recommend if staying in Playa Del Carmen}

IMG_9195.JPG

The best eco-archaeological theme park in Riviera Maya, where you can snorkel, swim with dolphins, swim through the underground rivers, get a massage under the waterfalls.

A fun family day out with all kinds of activities for everyone!

{Tip: They have the best Virgin Pina Colada's I have ever had and in a cute carved pineapple, so fun! Make sure to grab one near the beach.}

CENOTE IK KIL

One of the most photogenic & beautiful cenotes in the Yucatan peninsula. Dive right in to cool you down in the humid heat.

{Tip: Come here first, before you head to Chichen Itza, arrive before 8am to get the cenote to yourselves (save yourselves from those neon colored life jackets in your pictures) and catch breakfast at there local hotel restaurant right above the cenote! }
