8 YEARS & COUNTING

8 years...oh my! I remember getting married like it was just yesterday...but then again looking back we have been through so much, gone to so many places, done so many things and mainly we have accomplished our little doll. (Which also seems like just yesterday) We can't imagine her not ever being there! BUT HEY BACK TO US.... Anniversaries are just something worth celebrating, it's when you slow down your daily routine and really get to look back on US! We were lucky enough to have my sister babysit while we got some alone time to look back on our 8 years...

at first our day started off amazing! he left to go work at 4am so he can come back by 1pm to take me out FOR THE WHOLE DAY! YAY ME! he came home with a dozen of red roses and A BAG OF GIFTS...NOT TO MENTION AN EVERLASTING ROSE...(CHECK OUT THE PICTURES BELOW) WHO KNEW THEY EXISTED? HE'S A TRUE ROMANTIC..AND ALWAYS FINDS THE MOST UNIQUE GIFTS! HOW DID I GET SO LUCKY? I WAS A happy WIFE because roses are MY ULTIMATE favouriteS and he knows that!

HOWEVER...THE DAY WENT A LITTLE SOUTH WHEN HE finally told me wHere WE going....alcatraz! i wasn't too happy about it at first...i mean come on...taking your wife to a federal prison for an anniversary day out just for a little laugh isn't the ideal date..right? (FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT ALCATRAZ IS,..IT USED TO BE A FAMOUS PRISON, YES PRISON, LOL BUT NOW A NATIONAL PARK FOR SIGHTSEEING for tourists) HE THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY (JOKES ON HIM) Especially to let me know "HE" IS locked up with ME FOR LIFE...! but we had to make the most out of it, and we did. i loved the boat ride there...it was a beautiful day in the bay, stunning views of the city, RICH HISTORY OF THE ISLAND and actually quite romantic. The prison itself not so much, it was very depressing and had me thinking all kinds of way! BUT HEY A GREAT EYE OPENER ...AND WAS BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO GET BACK ON THAT BOAT AND LEAVE! WE checked alcatraz off (his) bucket list..and headed to our next destination...

A GONDOLA RIDE IN san francisco? HOLY MOLY..I WAS SO HAPPY! IT WAS JUST PERFECT! WE USUaLLY LIKE TO CELEBRATE OUR ANNIVERSARY BY TRAVELLING TO SOMEWHERE we've never been before...OUR ANNUAL TRIP IS ALWAYS BASED AROUND OUR ANNIVERSARY. SINCE WE JUST CAME BACK FROM MEXICO AND IT WAS RAMADAN, TRAVELLING WAS OUT OF THE QUESTION...SO TAKING A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE ON AN AUTHENTIC VENETIAN GONDOLA FROM ITALY IN LAKE MERITT, WHERE WE REMINISCED on our VENICE TRIP 7 YEARS AGO FOR OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY, WAS SO RELAXING & OH SO ROMANTIC. WE FELT LIKE WE WERE RIDING THROUGH THE CANALS OF VENICE AGAIN...WITH A CITY VIEW!

WE ENDED OUR DAY WITH A DELICIOUS DINNER ..AT OUR NEW FAVOURITE INDIAN FUSION RESTAURANT...AUGUST 1 FIVE.. IN SAN FRANCISCO. THE BEST SERVICE EVER & the food is amazing! THEY EVEN GAVE A COMPLIMENTARY ANNIVERSARY DESSERT WITH SOME SUPER FANCY DRINKS while we waited! also a must go if you love indian food with a modern edge!

'MY FAVOURITE PART OF OUR day was when i GIFTED MY HUSBAND a box OF "REMEMBER WHEN"..during dinner...IT WAS THE IDEAL ANNIVERSARY DINNER CONVERSATION ACTIVITY...(i highly recommend a must do no matter how many years it's been) IT WAS SO FUN TO LOOK BACK ON THINGS WE FORGOTTEN OR JUST CUTE MEMORIES TO LAUGH ON..while keeping the phones away!
