HOME SWEET LONDON

Many of you might not know, BUT my urgent trip to London was definitely not a FUN reason to go back home. With such a heartache i never thought i would be writing this, HOWEVER THIS IS THE TRUTH. THIS IS LIFE!

my urgent trip to London was due to my father getting really sick. my close ones know how much of a daddy's girl i am, and to hear he was really sick broke me. IT WAS MY WORST FEAR I HAVE LIVED WITH FOR SO MANY YEARS, MY WORST NIGHTMARE HAPPENING IN REAL LIFE! it was a Wednesday afternoon while on the phone to my mother telling her how i WILL BE COMING HOME TO SEE THEM VERY SOON AND HAD JUST BOOKED MY TICKET TO VISIT IN DECEMBER, IT HAD BEEN A WHOLE YEAR SINCE I HAD LAST SEEN MY FAMILY SO MY HEART WAS ACHING TO BE BACK THERE AGAIN, HOWEVER, WITHIN THE PHONE CALL, THE NEWS CAME...MY PAPA WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL AND MY MOTHER IN PANIC HUNG UP ON ME AND RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL HERSELF, WHILE HE WAS IN HOSPITAL THAT NIGHT, i COULDN'T CONTROL MYSELF. I WAS LOSING MY MIND KNOWING IF HE WILL BE OK, WILL I EVER SEE HIM AGAIN? IS THIS THE END OF HAVING PARENTS? I WILL NEVER HAVE A FATHER AGAIN? my amira will not grow up with a grandfather!

I WAS HYSTERICAL, AND JUST COULDN'T IMAGINE THE THOUGHT OF LOSING MY FIRST EVER HERO.

LUCKY TO BE BLESSED WITH MY SUPPORTING AND LOVING HUSBAND, WHO HAS KNOWN HOW MUCH IN FEAR I HAVE LIVED about LOSING MY PARENTS, BEING SO FAR AWAY AND BEING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD Does not help at all. HE BOOKED THE NEXT FLIGHT OUT, left for the airport at 4am on a thursday morning, i was ready to see my papa!

OH, THE THOUGHTS MY MIND WAS GOING THROUGH ON THAT 11 HOUR PLANE RIDE, I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO EXPLAIN, HOWEVER, I MADE IT home AND HE WAS ALHUMDULILLAH, MUCH BETTER, HE WAS HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL WHEN I ARRIVED AND HE WAS RESTING. I WAS just so happy that i got to seE HIM, i truly felt blessed, i got to hug him which i was longing for the whole plane ride AND MOST OF ALL HE GOT TO SEE MY DAUGHTER, AMIRA. WE GOT TO SPEND SO MUCH TIME WITH EACH OTHER on this short trip. I MADE SURE TO NEVER LET THOSE MOMENTS HE WAS HOME PASS BY WITHOUT SPENDING TIME WITH HIM. AS HE GOT BETTER, I GOT TO SPEND TIME WITH HIM AT HIS WORK, WE GOT TO DO DINNERS TOGETHER MORE AS A FAMILY, WE EVEN TOOK A WEEKEND OUT TO GET SOME RELAXING TIME IN THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE when he was feeling his self again.

May Allah give Shifa to Our Parents. Verily they are our biggest blessing.

WHILE ON MY JOURNEY TO SEE MY FATHER THERE WAS A PRAYER I PRAYED THROUGHOUT THE FLIGHT, PRAYER IS KEY, NOT JUST IN HARDSHIP BUT DAY TO DAY LIFE. I PRAY FOR MY PARENTS HEALTH EVERYDAY.

HERE IS A SMALL PRAYER WHICH HELPED ME THROUGH THIS AND May help you too...

Love your parents- we are so busy growing up, we often forget they are also growing old.

No matter how old she may be, sometimes a girl just needs her dad.

Parents act strong for us, we often forget how fragile they really are.
